The ODP Corporation Lead Transportation Solutions Consultant (Remote*) in Boca Raton, Florida

Overview

The Lead Transportation Solutions Consultant will be responsible for developing and implementing transportation solutions that optimize efficiency, improve service levels, and drive cost savings for our clients. This role will require expertise in 3PL transportation management, logistics, and supply chain to deliver tailored solutions that meet our clients' unique requirements. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in transportation engineering, data analysis, and supply chain optimization within the 3PL industry.

*Remote: While this position does not currently require relocation, candidates within a 30 mile radius of our physical HQ location in Boca Raton, FL will be required to work in the office a minimum of three days a week.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Transportation Solutions Development:

  • Analyze client needs and requirements to develop innovative and efficient solutions.

  • Collaborate with clients to understand their supply chain challenges and identify opportunities for optimization and improvement.

  • Utilize data analysis and modeling techniques to design transportation networks that drive cost savings and improve service levels.

  • Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in transportation solutions and engineering.

  • Network Optimization:

  • Conduct network optimization studies to identify opportunities for consolidation, mode optimization, and warehouse location selection.

  • Design transportation routes, infrastructure, and modal selection strategies to maximize efficiency and minimize costs.

  • Utilize transportation modeling software and tools to simulate and evaluate transportation scenarios and recommend improvements.

  • Implement network optimization strategies to improve transportation performance and reduce carbon footprint.

  • Engineering Process Improvement:

  • Lead the development and implementation of engineering processes and methodologies to drive efficiency and standardization.

  • Utilize lean and six sigma principles to identify waste, optimize workflows, and streamline transportation processes.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for process improvement and automation.

  • Establish and maintain engineering performance metrics, track progress, and report on key transportation engineering KPIs.

  • Client Relationship Management:

  • Collaborate with clients to understand their unique transportation requirements and develop tailored solutions.

  • Conduct regular meetings and periodic business reviews to assess transportation performance, address concerns, and identify improvement opportunities.

  • Act as a trusted advisor to clients, providing strategic guidance on transportation solutions and engineering processes.

  • Identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities with existing clients by identifying additional value-added services.

  • Continuous Improvement & Innovation:

  • Proactively identify areas for improvement and propose strategies to enhance transportation operations and engineering processes.

  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the team and across the organization.

  • Stay informed about advancements in transportation technologies, automation, and industry best practices.

  • Pilot and evaluate new transportation tools, systems, and technologies to drive innovation.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).

  • Minimum 8-10 years of experience in related field: Motor carrier and intermodal operations, 3rd party carrier management, contract negotiations, financial management and forecasting, data warehousing and analysis

  • Basic computer skills and the ability to use computers and technology for information, and to access information necessary to complete the job.

  • Strong Oral presentation/Public speaking skills

  • Excellent negotiating skills to deal with diverse contacts.

  • Ability to travel

  • Strong interpersonal skills.

  • Previous Transportation/Logistics experience
